Formula:
D,L-Sodium Cloprostenol 0.0263 g; Equivalent to 25 mg of Cloprostenol
Action:
Cattle: Estrus synchronization. Chronic purulent endometritis, termination of pregnancy (abortion or parturition). Synchronization of the estrous cycle in beef cattle: facilitates the use of artificial insemination, avoids problems with heat detection, and allows calving to be scheduled. In dairy cattle, estrus synchronization allows better control of the calving interval, reducing the number of cows culled as infertile. Therapeutic uses: silent heat, luteal cysts, induction of parturition, induction of abortion, elimination of mummified fetuses, adjunct treatment of chronic endometritis and pyometra. Sows: Induction of farrowing and (postpartum) metritis. Mares: Treatment of persistent corpus luteum and induction of estrus.
Precautions:
Women, children and persons with asthma or other bronchial conditions should handle the product with extreme caution, as cloprostenol may cause abortion or acute bronchoconstriction. Cloprostenol is absorbed through the skin; any contact with the product should be washed off immediately with soap and water.
Withdrawal period:
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption within 24 hours of administering the product. It is not necessary to discard the milk of treated animals.
