PREVENTIVE AND THERAPEUTIC SUPPLEMENT - VITAMIN

Ascorbic acid 12.5 g; Excip. q.s. 100 ml.
Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C - antiscorbutic vitamin) is a water-soluble vitamin of great importance to the body. Its role in collagen formation makes VITACE useful for maintaining the integrity of epithelia and vascular endothelia, fibrous tissue, cartilage, bone, teeth and wound healing. It is applicable in animals showing spontaneous bleeding of the mucous membranes. Vitace improves overall condition and promotes healthy bone development. It is also used in animals presenting growth disorders. It plays an active role in immune activity, boosting the body's defenses. Vitace is applicable in animals with fertility problems, being especially effective when used together with Selenium and Vitamin E. Due to its action on epithelia, Vitace helps prevent exercise-induced pulmonary bleeding, this effect being enhanced when used together with Furosemide. Administration of Vitace prevents and cures Vitamin C deficiency syndrome.
Indications:
Anti-infective vitamin supplement to boost the body's defenses. Improves wound healing. Anemic states. Overtraining and exhaustion from excessive work and training, to improve capillary fragility. Various types of hemorrhage. Deficiencies in reproduction and spermatogenesis. Also indicated to acidify urine in intoxicated animals, since urine acidification promotes excretion.
Dosage and method of administration:
Curative:Adult animals: 20 ml daily; Foals: 10 ml daily. Preventive:Adult animals: 20 ml every other day; Foals: 10 ml every other day. Administer intravenously, either daily or every other day, depending on whether the use is curative or preventive.
Side effects:
Large doses would acidify the urine, potentially increasing the excretion of certain drugs and thereby reducing their effectiveness. This would be the case for certain antimicrobials such as aminoglycosides and erythromycin.
Restrictions of use:
Not for use in horses intended for human consumption. Sport horses exclusively.
